Karage Recipe

I have tried at home to cook a typical Japanese dish that I used to eat at the University's restaurant. It's a very easy to make dish, and doesn't take much time to prepare it. Let's take a look to the recipe for two people:

Ingredients

  • 200-300gr of chicken meat
  • 5gr of grated garlic
  • 5gr of grated ginger
  • 15ml. of white wine
  • 15ml. of soy sauce
  • Some flour
  • Olive oil

Steps

  1. Cut the chicken meat in small blocks or thin strips.
  2. Mix in plate the grated garlic, grated ginger, white whine and soy sauce, and stir them until you have an uniform mix.
  3. Put all the meat in the plate with the mix.
  4. Leave the meat stand with the sauce 15min-60min. The time depends on the amount of flavour you want the meat to absorb.
  5. Mix the meat with the flour: mix the pieces one by one, don´t throw the sauce you previously used on the flour.
  6. Fry the meat with plenty olive oil about 5 minutes. Don't use too much temperature, the outside part of the meat should end with a goldy color.
